A connection between the past and the future
The challenge with Alcor was to design a flexible and adaptable piece, capable of evolving into a family of seats and, eventually, into future lines of tables. Our inspiration comes from the refined and enveloping forms of traditional scandinavian chairs, which convey serenity and harmony.
The concept of the chair is based on a solid ash wood seat, to which a backrest and legs are added. Its modularity offers great customisation potential, allowing a single chair to adapt to different spaces and meet various user needs.
With the launch of this collection, alongside the creation of the visual identity by Mito, we have managed to create a strong introduction for Cancio’s new chapter. In the midst of a process of renewal, the company has sought to reconnect with its roots and its surroundings, a principle reflected in the name of the Alcor chair.
This project has been an opportunity to bring to life our design values: the balance between functionality and aesthetics, simplicity in construction, and adaptability. We believe this approach is essential in creating a first product to accompany Cancio through this new phase.
